Who we are
Grower Stand is run by Jake Browne, in Colorado, USA. Write to [email protected] with any question about your information.
What we keep
Your account: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the addresses you save, your preferences, and your password stored only as a scrambled one-way hash.
Your orders: what you ordered, from whom, where it ships, and whether it's paid. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
Plants you asked to hear about when they're back.
Sign-in records, to keep your account safe: when you signed in, the kind of device and browser, the country, and the internet address it came from. You can see them under Sign-in and security on your account page.
Who sees what
A grower sees what you give them when you order from them or ask about one of their plants: your name, email, phone, shipping address and the order itself. A grower never sees your orders from other growers, your saved addresses, or anything else in your account.
Jake Browne, who runs Grower Stand, can see what's needed to run the sites and help you.
We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
Services we use
Postmark sends our email (sign-in codes, receipts, password links). Stripe takes card and bank payments for growers. Cloudflare carries the sites and forwards our email, and on some sites counts page views without cookies. Hetzner hosts the server. Have I Been Pwned is asked whether a new password has turned up in a data breach; only the first 5 characters of a scrambled version of it ever leave our server.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in, to remember a device you've already signed in on, and to carry a sign-in from one Grower Stand site to another (and, for a grower, while they try out a change to their shop). Your shopping cart and the larger-text setting are kept in your own browser. No advertising or tracking cookies.
We email you about your account and your orders. News about Grower Stand comes only if you tick the box for it on your account page, and every such email has a way to stop it.
Keeping and deleting
Download everything we keep about you, or delete your account, from Sites and email on your account page.
When you delete your account, your login, saved addresses, preferences and sign-in records go, and your email address is taken out of our sign-in and mail-delivery records. Growers keep their records of orders you placed with them, because they need them for their books and taxes.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account holders, and the date at the top will change.
